Visual identity & communication materials

Languages play an essential role in the daily lives of all peoples. Through languages, people not only anchor their history, traditions, memory, and unique modes of thinking and expression, but more importantly, through language, people construct their future. Languages are pivotal in the areas of peace building, human rights enhancement, education, research, innovation, protection of the environment, and sustainable development. Governments, intergovernmental organizations, and members of civil society are encouraged to organize activities to support the International Decade in accordance with the Global Action Plan, and to use the logo of the Decade to promote its visibility.

Registered partners can use the IDIL 2022-2032 logo for their events, subject to approval. The logo is available in the six official United Nations languages. There is also a version of the logo without text.

A request to use the logo can be made during the event registration process. We would, however, ask you to please share information with us about the activity you used the logo for, as this statistical information will be included in the final report on the IDIL2022-2032. For further information on logo use, please refer to:

  1. Logo guidelines
  2. Terms of use

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads. While work is underway to provide an updated solution, the Secretariat of IDIL 2022–2032 remains available for any inquiries at: indigenous.languages@unesco.org.
