Bashkir Culture Day, dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Bashkortostan

The Day of Bashkir Culture dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Bashkortostan was held at the Yekaterinburg Academy of Modern Art. The event was organized by the Sverdlovsk regional Public Organization for the Preservation and development of culture of the Bashkir people Kurultai Bashkir under the leadership of N.F. Tyumentseva, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Government of the Sverdlovsk region and the Administration of the city of Yekaterinburg.

The event was attended by a member of the Presidium of the HRC, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Sverdlovsk region T.G. MerzlyakovaMore than 17 thousand Bashkirs live in the Sverdlovsk region. The governments of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Republic of Bashkortostan pay special attention to the development of Bashkir culture, the preservation of the native language and traditions.

The guests of the holiday were greeted by national farmsteads, which helped to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Bashkir life and traditions, exhibitions, workshops, an exhibition of books from the fund of the Sverdlovsk Regional interethnic Library. Books devoted to the history, geography, traditions of the Bashkir people household, culinary, etc., are a significant part of the SOMB library collection. Nonfiction, fiction in Bashkir and Russian languages are in great demand among readers, the library, with the help of the Ministry of Culture of the Sverdlovsk region, each updates books on its shelves. And exhibitions at such events become an improvised reading room.

The event ended with a concert by the Sibai State Philharmonic of the Republic of Bashkortostan, which was attended by creative teams of the Sverdlovsk region.

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads.
