Development of legal acts in the field of language policy of the Republic of Tuva

Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tyva dated March 31, 2022 No. 178-r “On approval of the plan of main activities for holding the International Decade of Indigenous Languages in the Republic of Tyva in 2022-2032” was approved, which includes the following activities:

– Monitoring the preservation and development of the Tuvan language, including the Todzha dialect of the Tuvan language in the Republic of Tyva
– Development of legal acts in the field of language policy of the Republic of Tyva;
– Implementation of activities aimed at supporting and developing the Tuvan language in the information and digital space (development of keyboard layouts, fonts, mobile applications, software localization);
– Development and publication of educational and methodological literature (exemplary work programs), textbooks on the subjects “Native language”, “Literary reading in the native language”, “Native literature”;
– All-Russian ethnolinguoculturological dictation in the languages of the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation for the International Mother Language Day;
– Organization of targeted training of persons from among the indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation in educational programs of secondary vocational and higher education (“Education and Pedagogical Sciences”, “Linguistics and Literary Studies”, “Cultural Studies and Sociocultural Projects”);
– Implementation of measures aimed at providing additional social support to persons belonging to the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation, studying in Russian educational institutions of higher education under programs that provide for the study of the languages and cultures of these peoples;
– Conducting scientific research of the Tuvan language and the language situation in the Republic of Tyva;
– Conducting scientific conferences, round tables, seminars on the study of the Tuvan language;
– Interregional and regional events in the direction of “Support and development of national cultures”;
– Creation of a register of native speakers of the native language, culture of Tuvans-Todzhans
