Interregional competition “Tugan Cher” (Native land) in 2024.

From 10/31/2024 to 11/30/2024, the interregional Tugan Cher (Native Land) competition (hereinafter referred to as the competition) was held in absentia, organized by the State Budgetary Institution of Additional Education of the Republic of Khakassia “Republican Center for Additional Education” (hereinafter referred to as GBU DO RCDO).

The purpose of the competition is to promote the preservation and popularization of the Shor language and the traditional culture of the indigenous small-numbered people of the Russian Federation (Shors).

The competition was held in the nomination “Ancestral Language” or “Literary Living Room” – the recitation of poetic works in the Shor language by students in two age groups:

7-12 years;

13-18 years old.

24 students of educational organizations of the Republic of Khakassia and the Kemerovo region took part in the competition on a voluntary basis, eight of them were in the age category of 13-18 years, the rest were 7-12 years old. From the Republic of Khakassia, 6 students from the Askiz district and the city of Abakan took part.

According to the results of the competition, the winners and prize–winners in the age category of 7-12 years were students from the Kemerovo region, 13-18 years old – 1st and 2nd place from the Kemerovo region, 3rd place – the Republic of Khakassia.

The winners and prize-winners of the competition were awarded diplomas from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Khakassia. The participants of the competition, who were not among the winners and prize-winners, received certificates of participation of GBU DO RCDO.

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads. While work is underway to provide an updated solution, the Secretariat of IDIL 2022–2032 remains available for any inquiries at: indigenous.languages@unesco.org.
