Poetic evening dedicated to the celebration of the International Mother Language Day
The Republican House of Peoples’ Friendship hosted a literary and poetic evening dedicated to the celebration of the International Mother Language Day “As long as the language is preserved and the light matures in the Word, there is no limit to dreams”.
Oleg Kumallagov, Deputy Minister for National Policy and External Relations, welcomed the guests.
He emphasized that language is one of the most important tools in the development of civilisation, culture, customs and traditions, as well as in introducing them to other peoples.
The diversity and beauty of the languages of the different nations living in the country and the unity in the family of the peoples of North Ossetia were demonstrated through a rich creative programme of the evening. Young representatives of the republic’s ethnic cultural associations recited poems in their native languages. The poetry part was diluted by bright dance numbers by the Prometheus choreographic ensemble and the choreographic group of the Erebuni society. The guests were forced to plunge into the rich dance culture of Uzbekistan with the ancient Khorezmian dance Lazgi performed by a student of the Vladikavkaz College of Arts. The event was adorned with performances by young vocalists who demonstrated the beauty of their native language through folk songs.
Representatives of Greek, Armenian, Dagestani, Dagestani, Ingush, Tatar and Uzbek societies demonstrated their skills in different genres of art.
