The VIII Forum “Language Policy in the Russian Federation”
The Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs is holding the VIII Forum “Language Policy in the Russian Federation“ (hereinafter referred to as the Forum), which will be held on December 10-11, 2024 in Moscow. The forum is dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of the most famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.
The Forum will discuss topical issues of state policy in the field of preserving the linguistic diversity of the Russian Federation, the search for ways to harmonize interethnic and interfaith relations through language communication, as well as mechanisms for supporting and developing the languages of the peoples of Russia in the digital space. Russian russians will pay special attention to the discussion of the influence of A.S. Pushkin‘s work on the development of the modern Russian language, the national literatures of the peoples of Russia, and the translation of the values of Russian culture abroad.
The program of the Forum includes a plenary session, expert meetings and thematic panel sessions. Representatives of the authorities of the Russian Federation, public organizations of indigenous minorities, language activists, translators, IT project developers, ethnobloggers, employees of online media in the languages of the peoples of Russia, as well as experts in the field of preserving and developing the linguistic diversity of the Russian Federation are invited to participate in the Forum.
