Встреча любителей мордовской культуры

The meeting of the Moksha language club was opened by the head of the sector of the museum and ethnographic complex “Mordovian farmstead” of the Mordovian Republican United Museum of Local History named after I.D. Voronin Svetlana Borisovna Podgornova. She introduced everyone to the amazing exhibition “Wide holidays, beautiful outfits. Kelej pokshchitne, mazy orshamotne. Keli ilatne, mazy shchapne”, which recently opened in the museum. The exhibition is dedicated to the calendar and ritual holidays of both the Mordvins and Russians living in the territory of Mordovia. Svetlana Borisovna spoke in detail about how holidays were celebrated cheerfully and brightly in the past, each of which had its own unique traditions, attributes and rituals. She showed photographs of the exhibition, clearly illustrating the customs and traditions of the Intercession, the House of Maiden Beer, Christmas, Maslenitsa, Easter, spring agrarian prayers of the Mordvins, Trinity and Spas, presented through the prism of traditional costume, jewelry, icons and other attributes associated with Orthodox holidays, as well as household items and photographs of the late 19th – early 20th centuries.
The guest of the meeting was Oksana Nikolaevna Kugusheva, a primary school teacher at School No. 41 in Ryazan. She shared her memories of a trip to Estonia with creative numbers and a dance club for younger students, where she taught children Mordvin folk dances. A special place in her life is occupied by her love for her native Shoksha dialect of the Erzya language, which she knows very well.
The event continued with a lesson on the Moksha language in an online format, which was traditionally conducted by philologist Oksana Belkina. The ninth lesson was devoted to the topic of five local cases.
At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed the trip to the VIII Congress of the Interregional Public Organization of the Mordvin People, which took place from October 9 to 11 in Saransk, and exchanged opinions and experiences.
