Social activists of the “Pulngavat” national-cultural autonomy of the Khanty people in Salekhard held a series of meetings and visited kindergartens.

More than 40 pupils of the “Mozaika” kindergarten for the first time watched “Cuckoo” play based on the folklore of the peoples of the North. The roles were performed by school students: Alexey Syazi, a third-grader of the Obdorsk gymnasium, and Diana Aleshkina, a first-grader of the school №1.

Khanty group “Sorni Tutyye” (headed by Valery Pryzhankov) performed musical tunes on traditional Khanty instruments “nars-yukh” and “tor-sapl-yukh” (“crane neck“). Children were told about the traditional musical instruments of the indigenous northerners. They attended a master class, and sang comic songs. Together with social activists, children learned how to make a traditional Khanty doll “akan“.

A family folklore ensemble “Sumat Nuv” (headed by Valentin Valgamov) presented a musical gift to the young people of Salekhard.

This is not the first meeting with kindergarten students. In April, together with the young residents of Salekhard, social activists met spring at the “Vorna Hatl” holiday (Raven’s Day).

Meetings were also held in the senior groups of the “Crystallik” kindergarten. The events are held with the organizational support of the Regional Center of National Cultures and are dedicated to the Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia.
