Svetlana Taishina, a student of the 8th grade of the Aksarka village school, became the best in her native language at the Arctic Olympiad Svetlana Taishina, a student of the 8th grade of the Aksarka village school, recently won the "Native Languages of the North" nomination of the interregional "Arctic Olympiad" in local history and native languages. The girl became a contender for the regional award supporting talented youth of Yamal. This year, 21 schoolchildren and 3 students from 13 municipalities of Yamal, one representative of Nenets Autonomous Okrug and one representative of Krasnoyarsk Krai became participants in the Olympiad. The tasks of the Olympiad included six competitive tests in two categories: "Arctic Local History" and "Native Languages" (Khanty, Nenets, and Selkup).

Nenets folklore group "Vysei" ("Heart of the Tundra") celebrated the 20th anniversary Members of the Nenets folklore group "Vysei" are performers of old Nenets songs and ritual works. The team includes 35 participants: 12 children of school and preschool age and 23 adult performers. The group's repertoire includes the song heritage of the indigenous northerners, author's works, oral folklore, ritual sketches, reproduction of the sounds of the Yamal nature. The group was founded by two talented women, honored workers of culture of Yamal - Tatiana Lar and Elena Ufimtseva.

The forum is a universal platform for constructive interaction between young people, the search for new approaches to preserve identity, language, culture, traditional way of life, the development of new competencies and the generation of new ideas. The Russian North. The youth has developed and proposed for implementation a number of projects that will promote the languages and original culture of the indigenous peoples of the North. One of these projects was the "Booklet of Friendship" in the format of a phrase book in four languages: Russian, Nenets, Khanty, and Selkup. The booklet includes QR-codes with colloquial phrases and words in native languages. Such phrases can become useful when pointing the camera of a mobile device at them when conducting a dialogue with representatives of different nations.
